Communication Education published in January, April, July and October, is a leading journal for scholarship on discourse and instruction. Published continuously for over 50 years, it includes original empirical, critical, historical, and theoretic studies bearing on the intersections of communication, instruction, and human development. It encompasses diverse disciplinary, conceptual, and methodological perspectives, especially research in the following areas:
Each issue of Communication Education also features reports of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning in Communication. These articles are driven by questions about how an instructional communication practice influenced the teaching and learning of a particular subject in a particular setting. Unless specifically indicated otherwise, articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, including screening by the editor and review by at least two anonymous referees.
