Action Learning: Research & Practice will publish three types of contribution:

Refereed Papers - reviewed by at least two external referees and will normally be revised after receipt of their comments. These articles should seek to generate new insights and theory which illuminate the idea of action learning. Papers should be in the range of 5000-6000 words. To ensure anonymity of the review process, please do not include author names on manuscripts. An abstract of 100-200 words should accompany papers together with a short note of bibliographical details. Papers should be sent to:

Helen James
Henley Business School,
Greenlands,
Henley-on-Thames,
Oxfordshire,
RG9 3AU,
UK
email: helen.james@henley.reading.ac.uk

Accounts of Practice
- Reviewed by the Editorial Board. These articles should express the concept of action learning by presenting examples of, and explaining how, action learning has led to the development of new perspectives and new ideas and how the practitioner has changed practice because of insights gained through collaborative learning. Articles of c.1,000 to 3,000 words detailing accounts of practice in the field, should be sent to:

Dr David Coghlan, FTCD

Lecturer in Organisation Development,
School of Business,
University of Dublin,
Trinity College, Dublin 2.
Ireland
email: dcoghlan@tcd.ie

Dr Clare Rigg,
School of Business & Social Studies
Institute of Technology Tralee
Co. Kerry
Ireland
email: clare.Rigg@staff.ittralee.ie

An abstract of 100-200 words should accompany accounts of practice, together with a short note of bibliographical details. For further information on preparing an account of practice, please see our Guidelines for Authors.

Reviews - including review articles, surveys of fields of practice, conference reports and book reviews of recent relevant publications, should be
sent to:

Sue Pritchard,
e-mail: sue.pritchard@bathconsultancygroup.com

The Editorial Board will ensure that contributors receive feedback which is:

Timely - acknowledgement of contributions will include a date by which a response can be expected.
Supportive and challenging - to enable contributors to learn from the process and improve their practice.

Three complete copies of each contribution should be submitted. They should be word-processed on one side of the paper, double spaced, with ample margins, and bear the title of the article, name(s) of the author(s) and the address where the work was carried out. The full postal address of the author who will check proofs and receive correspondence and off-prints should also be included. All pages should be numbered.

Footnotes to the text should be avoided wherever this is reasonably possible.

A copy of the paper should be submitted on disk together with the final accepted hard copy version.

Rejected manuscripts will not normally be returned to contributors, unless sufficient international postal coupons have been sent.

Tables and captions to illustrations. Tables must be typed out on separate sheets and not included as part of the text. The captions to illustrations should be gathered together and also typed out on a separate sheet. Tables and figures should be numbered by Arabic numerals. The position of tables and figures should be indicated in the manuscript. Captions should include keys to symbols.

Figures. Please supply one set of artwork in a finished form, suitable for reproduction. Figures will not normally be redrawn by the publisher.

Citations of other work should be limited to those strictly necessary for the argument. Any quotations should be brief, and accompanied by precise references.
