New Zealand Journal of Marine and Freshwater Research publishes original research papers on all aspects of aquatic science, including fisheries, with particular emphasis on Australasia, South America, Antarctica, and the Pacific.
The subject matter is of worldwide interest to researchers and resource managers in research institutions, universities, museums, regional authorities, and other organisations. It encompasses field-based, experimental, and theoretical research on marine, estuarine and freshwater biology, including ecology, taxonomy, aquaculture, genetics, biodiversity, and bioinvasions; as well as physical oceanography, limnology, hydrology, and aquatic chemistry.
